Senior Employee Benefits Actuary - Insurance Brussels

For one of our clients, we are actively looking for a Pension Fund Actuary based in Brussels.

Our client is a well-established consulting firm specializing in actuarial services and supplementary pension consulting. A leading player in the Belgian market, the firm supports numerous pension funds, national companies, and international groups in the management, funding, and development of their pension plans.

To support its continued growth and the launch of new projects, our client is seeking a Senior Actuary to strengthen its Brussels-based team.

Role

As a Senior Actuary, you will manage a portfolio of clients consisting primarily of pension funds and large corporations.

You will serve as a trusted advisor on actuarial, regulatory, and strategic pension-related matters, while actively contributing to the development of new solutions and the continuous improvement of internal processes.

Your Responsibilities

Actuarial Consulting

Manage the actuarial aspects of several pension funds and retirement plans.
Perform actuarial valuations, funding analyses, and prepare technical reports.
Produce accounting calculations and reporting in accordance with IFRS/IAS standards.
Analyze the actuarial impact of regulatory changes and pension plan amendments.

Strategic Advisory

Advise clients on pension plan funding mechanisms.
Participate in Asset-Liability Management (ALM) studies, risk analyses, and funding strategies.
Support the design and modification of pension plans.
Contribute to complex projects such as mergers & acquisitions, the Belgian 80% tax limit, corporate restructurings, and legislative changes.

Client Portfolio Management

Act as the primary point of contact for your clients.
Build and maintain long-term trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
Ensure the quality and timely delivery of client assignments.
Contribute to the development of new consulting engagements.

Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities to improve actuarial processes.
Contribute to the development of new tools and methodologies.
Share your expertise with team members and mentor more junior colleagues.

Profile

Master's degree in Actuarial Science (mandatory).
6 to 10 years of actuarial experience, ideally within pension funds, life insurance, or actuarial consulting.
Strong knowledge of Belgian pension schemes, IFRS/IAS accounting standards, and pension funding principles.
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
Strong client-focused mindset and excellent interpersonal skills.
Autonomous, well-organized, and able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.
Team player with a willingness to share knowledge and mentor colleagues.
Excellent command of both French and Dutch at a professional level (mandatory).

Compensation & Benefits

Gross monthly salary between €5,500 and €7,000, depending on experience.
