Azure Network Engineer

Your role
As a Cloud Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer, you will be involved in operating, maintaining, and improving cloud platforms hosted on Microsoft Azure. You’ll work closely with engineering, security, and operations teams in an agile environment to ensure stability, security, and performance of critical platforms.

Key responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot managed and self-hosted platforms on Azure
- (Kubernetes, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Keycloak, Opensearch, CEPH, etc.)
- Apply patching and routine updates in line with security and operational standards
- Configure and manage access controls and secrets (Keycloak and native platform tools)
- Maintain infrastructure configuration using Terraform, Helm, and related tools
- Create and maintain technical and operational documentation
DevOps & Automation
- Support deployment activities and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or similar)
- Collaborate on automation initiatives to improve reliability and efficiency
Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor system health and respond to incidents
- Escalate complex issues to senior engineers or specialists when required
- Contribute to capacity and performance monitoring, identifying bottlenecks and improvements
Support & Maintenance
- Perform backups, restores, and basic disaster recovery operations
- Collaborate with development, engineering, and security teams to resolve system-level issues
Collaboration & Agile Ways of Working
- Work closely with the team on backlog items and user stories
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies (planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives)
- Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and platform solutions
Profile
Required skills & experience
Technical skills
- Hands-on experience with Azure cloud infrastructure, including:
- Azure Access Control
- Azure Virtual Network
- Logic Apps
- Azure Firewall
- Azure VPN Gateway
- Azure Monitoring
- Operational experience with:
- Kubernetes
- Kafka
- PostgreSQL
- CEPH
- Opensearch
- Authentication & Authorization (Keycloak)
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
- CI/CD tools and version control: Azure DevOps, Git, ArgoCD, Helm
- Basic scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- Solid understanding of cloud security, IAM, and data protection principles
Soft skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Clear written and spoken communication in English
- (French, Dutch, or German are a plus)
- Team-oriented, but able to work independently on assigned tasks
- Comfortable following guidance from Lead Cloud Engineers, Architects, or Operations Managers
- Experience working with ticketing and documentation systems
On-call & operations
- Willingness to participate in shift or on-call rotations when required, in line with operational policies
