VAT Specialist | Chemicals | Brussels outskirts

We are actively looking for a VAT Specialist for one of our client active in the chemical industry and located in the peripheries of Brussels.

Given its increasing activity and the constant evolution and refresh of legislation, our client is today looking for a VAT Specialist in order to reinforce its VAT team composed of 3 people. You will get the chance to become an expert in VAT for a specific project and the company’s daily activities.

Role:

Prepare VAT & Intrastat reporting and make sure they are produced accurately and in due time
Collaborate with the Group VAT Team to implement new strategy: triangulation, cashflow improvement, new commercial and specific sales agreements
Ensure reconciliations of accounts with VAT returns
Liaise with Belgian and foreign VAT authorities and follow the evolution of VAT legislations
Defend VAT files during the audits
Avoid and reduce potential risks and exposures for businesses (penalties and fines)
Work with the VAT team on the improvement and optimization of VAT procedures and processes
Assist other VAT teams based all around Europe

Profile:

You have a degree in Law, Tax, Economics or Accounting
You have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in the VAT, Tax or Fiduciary domains and you are eager to make VAT your specialty
You are fluent in English and have a good level of French and/or Dutch
At work, you are known for being someone implicated, curious and you easily take initiatives to improve the ways of working as well as your technical skills
Communicative and professional, you are able to create and maintain relationships quit easily. You enjoy working with a team and prioritize knowledge sharing and direct communication
You are able to work under pressure and you respect confidentiality
