Sr Legal Advisor – Banking & Finance

Our partner is a dynamic bank in full growth, seeking a Senior Legal Advisor to join its Legal team and steer strategic & operational advice.

Your duties and responsibilities?

Provide clear, accurate and pragmatic legal advice on a broad spectrum of banking- & finance-related topics (products, contracts, procedures, model-texts, disputes).
Draft, analyse and negotiate various legal and contractual documents (T&Cs, service agreements, partnerships, financial product documentation).
Support operational teams in structuring and launching new services/products from a legal & regulatory standpoint.
Collaborate closely with Compliance and Risk Management to identify, mitigate or resolve legal risks.
Monitor and analyse impact of new regulation and case-law on the bank’s activities; propose and implement solutions.
Manage non-credit-related litigation: analyse files, coordinate with external counsel, represent the bank where needed.
Support the complaints department for complex dossiers and provide legal support to the Secretary-General on governance matters.

Ideal profile?

Min. 5 years’ relevant experience in the banking/financial sector (in-house, consultancy or law firm)
Native French or Dutch, good knowledge of the other national language (min B2) and good level of English (min B2).
Master of Laws (Belgian university)
