Senior Accountant | Aerospace

Our partner, a fast-growing technology & industrial company based in Walloon Brabant, is looking for a Senior Accountant to strengthen its Finance team.

This growth naturally comes with new challenges for Finance. Processes are evolving, activities are becoming increasingly international and the team is looking for people who want to take ownership rather than simply execute predefined tasks.

As a Senior Accountant, you will join a small Finance team where you will have direct exposure to the Head of Finance and work closely with other accountants and controllers. You will manage your own accounting scope with a high level of autonomy while also contributing to the continuous improvement of the Finance function.

This is particularly interesting if you enjoy accounting but want a position where your role goes beyond AP/AR and transactional accounting.

Senior Accountant | Your duties and responsibilities

As Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of the accounting of several entities and cover a broad accounting scope. Your responsibilities will include:

Managing day-to-day general accounting activities and supporting AP/Purchase-to-Pay processes;
Preparing bank and balance-sheet reconciliations and following up on expenses and credit cards;
Recording payroll entries and other general ledger transactions;
Preparing VAT, Intrastat and Intracom declarations;
Participating in monthly, quarterly and annual closings;
Preparing statutory annual accounts and supporting external audits;
Supporting Group consolidation activities;
Implementing and improving accounting controls;
Helping harmonise accounting practices across different entities;
Identifying opportunities to simplify, digitalise and automate accounting processes.

The objective is not to hire someone who simply follows existing procedures. As Senior Accountant, you will be encouraged to challenge them, suggest improvements and progressively help build a more scalable Finance organisation.

Senior Accountant | Ideal profile

Experience: You have solid experience in general accounting and are comfortable handling closings autonomously. Experience in a multi-entity, industrial, scale-up or accounting-firm environment is an asset.
Languages: You are fluent in French and have a very good professional level of English.
Qualifications: You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

Senior Accountant | The offer

A permanent contract within a fast-growing Belgian technology and industrial environment;
A gross salary of approximately €4,600 – €4,800/month, depending on experience;
A company car and a complete benefits package;
2 days of remote work per week with flexibility within the team;
A 40-hour working week with 12 additional recovery days + 1 extra day off;
