Linux Operations Engineer

Ensure high-availability, secure Linux-based systems worldwide by deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting mission-critical infrastructure

As a Operations Engineer, you will provide support for software and hardware solutions. You will be part of a dynamic support team handling global installations, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system security and efficiency. Take charge controlling operations through biometric registration and secure data protection. Role

Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and related software.


Manage system performance, tuning, and capacity planning to ensure high availability. Prepare, install, and maintain hardware at distributed locations worldwide. Assist in organizing a remote-controlled maintenance infrastructure.


Conduct regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of hardware, server resources, and key processes. Troubleshooting & Support Provide third-line support via email, phone, and on-site assistance.


Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, networking, and system issues. Perform root cause analysis for recurring issues and implement preventive measures.


Act as the interface between clients, second-line support, development, and sales teams.


Support application deployments, upgrades, and maintenance.


Security & Compliance: Implement and maintain security best practices, including system hardening, patch management, and access controls following the guidelines.


Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments based on the guidelines. Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.


Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes. Maintain installation records, software FAQs, and knowledge bases (e.g., company wiki).


Generate reports on system performance, uptime, and security incidents. Provide input for capacity planning and future infrastructure needs.


Collaboration, Training & Presales Support Work closely with IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to support business objectives.


Assist presales teams with new configurations and technical demonstrations.


Mentor junior team members and share knowledge within the team.  

Profile

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 3-5 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator, Support Engineer, or similar role. Experience with various Linux distributions (e.g., Red Hat preferred). Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Proxmox). Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Podman) and orchestration tools (Docker Swarm, Kubernetes).


Technical Skills:

Proficiency in shell scripting and at least one additional programming language. Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible).


Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, switches, routers). Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, ELK).


General PC software knowledge: Windows (10), Linux, optional Android. Knowledge of databases such as Oracle, MySQL,


PostgreSQL is an advantage. Understanding of security environments (certificates, PKI, HSM) is an advantage.


Knowledge of electricity/electronics is an advantage. Knowledge of automated test-environment is an advantage
