General Accountant | IT company | Brussels
We are actively looking for an Accountant for one of our clients active in the IT industry and located in Brussels.
Our partner specializes in digitalization. Founded and driven by a team of engineers, the company controls the entire value chain: from design and industrialization to on-site installation and ongoing support through its dedicated software. It currently collaborates with the major players in specific sectors of activities across Europe.
With a small and agile team, the company recently joined a larger international industrial group. As an Accountant, your role within the company will be highly versatile. You will manage accounting tasks from A to Z, take ownership of external audits, ensure accurate financial reporting both locally and at the group level, and handle certain HR responsibilities.
Function:
You will work in close collaboration with the Finance Manager and handle the following tasks:
- Responsible for end-to-end accounting, including purchase-to-pay and invoice-to-pay processes, as well as monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
- Preparation of financial reports for both the local entity and the parent group
- Management of VAT declarations
- Preparation and follow-up of external audits
- Participation in strategic initiatives such as IT system upgrades, implementing internal controls and processes harmonization
- HR tasks: payroll processing, liaising with the social secretariat, managing absences and holidays, and overseeing fleet operations
Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- At least 3 years of experience in general accounting role
- You speak French fluently and have some good knowledge of English
- You are curious and proactive, not just focused on execution but eager to understand the bigger picture and to challenge yourself and the Finance Manager
- You take initiatives and enjoy bringing new ideas to the table, especially when it comes to improving processes or solving problems
- You have a strong interest and feel comfortable with IT tools
