Our client, a growing Belgian marketing and technology consultancy, is looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join its Finance team.

As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will take ownership of the AP process across multiple entities, with a high degree of autonomy and flexibility. Your work will have a direct impact on supplier payments, financial closing and the overall efficiency of the Finance function.

Accounts Payable Accountant | Your duties and responsibilities

As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will:

Manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable process, from invoice processing to payment follow-up
Code and book invoices accurately across different legal entities, GL accounts and cost centres
Monitor outstanding, blocked or unclear invoices and proactively resolve bottlenecks
Manage Finance mailboxes and follow up with internal and external stakeholders
Process bank transactions and match payments with invoices
Reconcile customer and supplier accounts, including payments, invoices and credit notes
Review supplier balances and resolve open items, duplicates and discrepancies
Support monthly, quarterly and yearly closing activities
Prepare weekly AP status updates covering outstanding items, blockers and required actions
Contribute to improving finance processes, controls, tools and automation

Accounts Payable Accountant | Ideal profile

Experience: You have relevant experience in Accounts Payable, accounting or finance administration. Profiles such as AP Accountant, Junior Accountant or Finance Administrator are welcome.
Languages: You are fluent in French and/or Dutch and have a good working knowledge of English.
Qualifications: You hold a degree or relevant training in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field. Experience with Exact Online, Blue10, Teamleader or similar tools is a strong plus.
