Solvency II Risk Expert - Insurance Institution in Brussels

Our client, a leading international insurance group, is looking for a Senior Risk Expert in Solvency II to join its Group Risk function.

This strategic position offers the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of enterprise risk management by supporting the implementation of advanced risk modelling frameworks and strengthening risk reporting capabilities at Group level.


Working within an international environment, you will collaborate with risk, actuarial and finance professionals to transform quantitative risk outputs into meaningful business insights that support strategic decision-making.


Role

As a Senior Risk Officer, you will play a central role in enhancing the organisation's quantitative risk framework while supporting the evolution of its internal risk management capabilities.


Your responsibilities will include:


Risk Modelling & Capital Management

  • Support the implementation and continuous enhancement of advanced risk modelling frameworks.
  • Coordinate quantitative risk exercises and contribute to the consolidation of enterprise-wide risk profiles.
  • Participate in the development of risk methodologies and ensure their consistent application across the organisation.
  • Analyse model outputs and recommend improvements to strengthen risk management practices.


Risk Reporting & Strategic Analysis

  • Develop robust risk reporting processes delivering timely and insightful information to senior management.
  • Translate complex quantitative analyses into clear and actionable business recommendations.
  • Design analytical tools supporting sensitivity analyses, scenario testing and capital planning.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives by providing quantitative risk assessments for business development and investment decisions.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Risk, Finance, Actuarial and Business teams to ensure consistency in risk assumptions and reporting.
  • Support the deployment and adoption of new risk methodologies throughout the organisation.
  • Contribute to projects aimed at improving governance, reporting quality and operational efficiency.
  • Promote best practices and foster collaboration across international teams.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate and optimise risk reporting processes.
  • Participate in transformation initiatives linked to regulatory developments and evolving risk management practices.
  • Help strengthen the organisation's overall risk culture through innovation and continuous improvement.


Profile

  • Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or another quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in insurance risk management, actuarial or capital management.
  • Strong understanding of Solvency II and insurance risk management principles.
  • Experience working with quantitative risk models or internal capital models is highly desirable.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex quantitative information.
  • Experience managing projects or coordinating cross-functional initiatives is an asset.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information to senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive, organised and committed to delivering high-quality work.
  • Comfortable working within multicultural and international environments.
  • Fluent English is essential. Additional European languages are considered an advantage.
