Senior Accountant | Be the right-hand of the Chief Accountant

We are currently looking for a Senior Accountant for one of our clients, active in the retail sector and based in Brussels.

This well-known French retail group has launched a major strategic project in Europe and, for more than six months, has built a dedicated team to oversee the financial monitoring of this initiative.

You will join an ambitious venture and become part of a recently established office in Belgium, which is currently in a structuring and growth phase. As a General Accountant, you will act as the right-hand person to the Accounting Manager in place.

Together, you will contribute to consolidating and optimizing an already operational accounting team, in order to provide long-term support for this large-scale project. This experience will allow you to develop your skills within a structured project, in a dynamic and rapidly expanding environment.

Function:

Supervise invoice postings carried out by the AP/AR teams
Prepare and review payments in coordination with the Accounting Manager
Monitor receivables and payables, follow up with customers and suppliers, and propose solutions in case of unpaid invoices or disputes
Perform bank reconciliations and monitor accounts
Support the Accounting Manager during monthly and annual closings by preparing accounting data and contributing to financial analyses
Participate in the optimization of accounting procedures and the strengthening of internal controls within the team

Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
At least 4 years of experience in general accounting
Fluent in French, with the ability to use English in a professional context
A rigorous and methodical approach to managing accounting tasks and deadlines, with a constant focus on quality
Proactive, able to anticipate needs, and resilient when facing challenges
Highly adaptable in a constantly evolving environment, combining motivation, humility, and a strong willingness to learn
