Righa Hand to the CFO - Future Head of Accounting Brussels

Our client is an international group, with operations spanning multiple continents and is looking for the Right Hand to the CFO as Future Head of Accounting.

Role

Full-Scope Accounting Leadership

Manage end-to-end accounting (A–Z) for the Belgian headquarters and several international entities
Oversee monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings
Coordinate and supervise group consolidation processes

Governance & Compliance

Ensure compliance with Belgian accounting standards (BE GAAP)
Contribute to the development and reinforcement of internal financial procedures
Lead external audit processes and liaise with audit firms
Supervise local tax compliance

Financial Control & Optimization

Monitor intercompany flows and ensure accuracy in reporting
Analyze operating expenses and support budget control
Provide financial insights and performance analysis to management
Identify and implement process improvements within finance operations

Strategic Collaboration

Act as key finance contact for international subsidiaries
Work directly with the CFO on financial strategy and structural improvements
Prepare the ground for future team expansion and take leadership responsibility as the department grows

Profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in an international accounting environment
Strong technical knowledge of BE GAAP and consolidation principles
Comfortable working autonomously with a high level of responsibility
Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with senior stakeholders
Fluent in English and French
