Internal Auditor - Banking in Belgium
For one of our clients, we are actively looking for an Internal Audit for a bank in Brussels.
This position combines data analytics, audit and risk management, offering the opportunity to work on strategic reviews of critical business processes and analytical models. You will collaborate with auditors, risk specialists and business stakeholders to transform complex datasets into valuable insights that strengthen governance, improve internal controls and support data-driven decision-making.
Role
As an Internal Audit Data Analyst, you will support audit engagements through advanced data analysis and automation. You will transform large datasets into actionable information, helping audit teams identify trends, anomalies and potential risks while contributing to the continuous improvement of internal control processes.
You will also participate in the development of innovative analytical tools and dashboards, enabling more efficient and data-driven audit activities.
Audit Analytics
- Support audit assignments by collecting, preparing and analysing data from multiple business systems.
- Translate audit objectives into structured data analyses that support risk assessments and audit testing.
- Identify patterns, anomalies and control weaknesses through advanced data exploration.
- Produce meaningful insights that strengthen audit conclusions and recommendations.
Data Management & Automation
- Extract, transform and validate data from various operational and reporting platforms.
- Ensure data quality, consistency and reliability throughout analytical processes.
- Develop automated workflows that improve efficiency and reduce manual interventions.
- Contribute to the optimisation of audit methodologies through data-driven solutions.
Reporting & Visualisation
- Design interactive dashboards and reports to support audit planning and reporting.
- Build visualisations that clearly communicate key findings to auditors and management.
- Develop reporting solutions using modern Business Intelligence technologies.
- Present analytical results in a structured and business-oriented manner.
Continuous Improvement
- Contribute to the development of innovative audit analytics capabilities.
- Support the implementation of new analytical tools and technologies.
- Identify opportunities to improve data governance, reporting and analytical processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects involving data, risk and internal controls.
Profile
- Master's degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Business Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance or another quantitative discipline.
- Initial professional experience (or strong academic background) in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering or Audit Analytics.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large and complex datasets.
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies:
- Power BI
- Power Automate
- Power Apps
- Python
- SAS
- SQL
- Good understanding of data governance, data quality and information management principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to manage multiple priorities while working autonomously.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent in English and proficient in French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other national language.

Salary Package (Belgium)
For this type of position in Brussels, the market package generally ranges between:
- Medior profile (3–5 years): €4,700 – €5,800 gross/month
