Insurance Product Manager in Non Life - Brussels

For one of our clients, we are actively looking for an Insurance Product Manager in non-life insurance in Brussels.

Our client is a well-established insurance company looking to strengthen its Product Management team with an experienced Insurance Product Manager.


In this role, you will shape the development and positioning of insurance solutions for small businesses and self-employed professionals. You will combine product strategy, market analysis and cross-functional coordination to ensure the portfolio remains competitive, relevant and profitable.


This is a broad position with direct impact on product development, distribution strategy and commercial performance.


Role

As Senior Product Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of business insurance products and coordinate their development throughout the entire product lifecycle.


You will work closely with Underwriting, Legal, Pricing, Claims, Distribution, Marketing and Operations to translate customer needs and market developments into concrete insurance solutions.


Your responsibilities will include:

Product Development

  • Lead the design, review and continuous improvement of insurance products for small enterprises and self-employed clients.
  • Coordinate the full product development process, from initial concept and product conditions to governance, implementation and market launch.
  • Ensure products remain aligned with customer expectations, regulatory requirements and distribution needs.
  • Contribute to the simplification and modernisation of the existing product offering.


Market & Customer Analysis

  • Monitor developments in the business insurance market and identify emerging customer needs.
  • Analyse competitor offerings, broker feedback, market data and customer insights.
  • Translate these findings into new product opportunities and targeted improvements.
  • Support the definition of value propositions and product positioning across different distribution channels.


Portfolio Performance

  • Monitor the commercial and financial performance of the product portfolio.
  • Analyse profitability, production, claims trends and customer behaviour.
  • Identify underperforming areas and initiate corrective measures.
  • Work with Pricing and Underwriting teams to ensure a sustainable balance between growth, competitiveness and profitability.


Stakeholder Coordination

  • Build effective relationships with internal departments and external distribution partners.
  • Align stakeholders around product priorities, timelines and business objectives.
  • Present product recommendations and performance insights to senior management.
  • Support brokers and commercial teams with clear product information and market positioning.


Profile

  • You hold a Master’s degree, preferably in Economics, Insurance or Business Administration, or have equivalent professional experience.
  • You have at least 3 years of experience in insurance product management.
  • You possess broad knowledge of commercial insurance products, such as:
  • Property
  • Motor
  • General Liability
  • Business Interruption
  • Accident
  • Electronic Equipment
  • Experience in underwriting or underwriting support within the SME segment is considered an asset.
  • You understand the Belgian business insurance market and the broker distribution model.
  • You combine analytical thinking with a commercial and customer-focused mindset.
  • You are proactive, structured and capable of managing several initiatives simultaneously.
  • You communicate clearly and can influence stakeholders at different organisational levels.
  • You have a native or C1 level in Dutch.
  • You enjoy collaboration, continuous learning and working in an evolving environment.
