Head of Compliance (International Level)

Our client is a global leader in health & insurance services, seeking a Head of Compliance Europe to steer its regional governance and regulatory strategy.

Your duties & responsibilities

Lead the design and execution of the European compliance programme, ensuring alignment with group standards and regulatory expectations.
Assess compliance risks, identify gaps, implement remediation measures, and promote a strong compliance & ethics culture.
Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on complex cross-border matters within a multicultural environment.
Act as the key point of contact for regulators (FSMA, NBB, and other European supervisory bodies).
Ensure an annual compliance plan is built, monitored, and delivered.
Develop and implement governance frameworks, policies, training and communication tools adapted to the European activities.
Support multinational business lines with tailored compliance guidance.
Prepare compliance reporting for Audit/Risk Committees and European Boards.
Coordinate with legal, audit, risk and enterprise compliance to harmonise global compliance policies (AML, OFAC, anti-bribery, etc.).
Lead, mentor and develop a small team of Compliance Officers across Europe.
Anticipate regulatory challenges and design innovative compliance solutions.

Ideal profile?

Experience: 10+ years in compliance within financial services/insurance, or private practice advising regulated entities; strong cross-border exposure.
Languages: Fluent English required; French or Dutch highly valued.
Qualifications: Compliance certification (BE or EU) or willingness to obtain; strong academic background in law, business or related field.
