GL Accountant | Services | Brussels

We are currently looking for a GL Accountant for one of our international clients active in the services industry and located in Brussels.

Our client is a multinational organization with a strong presence across Europe and beyond, employing tens of thousands of people worldwide. The group is involved in the management of a broad portfolio of large-scale projects across key sectors such as healthcare, transport, justice and infrastructure.

As GL Accountant, you will join a team of five and report directly to the Chief Accountant. This role offers a unique opportunity to become part of a stable and reputable international group, while working within a close-knit, supportive team culture that values trust, autonomy and collaboration.

Function:

Ensure accurate and timely financial accounting, month-end closing and reporting in line with group requirements
Prepare statutory accounts, VAT and tax returns and liaise with relevant tax authorities
Maintain strong financial governance, internal controls and compliance
Perform balance sheet reconciliations and identify, monitor and communicate associated risks and opportunities
Support internal and external audits
Contribute to the improvement of financial processes and systems and provide relevant financial insights to management

Profile:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
At least 2 years of relevant experience in General Accounting
You speak French and/or Dutch and have a professional level in English
You are proactive and not afraid to ask questions when you need clarity
You bring a positive, solution-oriented mindset and are eager to contribute to both the work and the team atmosphere
You are adaptable and flexible, comfortable with change and able to adjust quickly to evolving processes and priorities
