About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established insurance company operating in a highly regulated and dynamic environment. To support ongoing strategic initiatives and regulatory requirements, they are looking for an experienced Freelance Actuary to strengthen their actuarial and risk management teams.
This assignment offers the opportunity to work on high-impact projects while collaborating with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Capital Management, and Product Development.
Role
As a Freelance Actuary, you will contribute to a variety of actuarial and risk-related activities, including:
Reserving & Financial Reporting
- Perform actuarial valuations and technical provision calculations
- Support quarterly and annual closing processes
- Analyze reserve adequacy and monitor trends
- Contribute to financial and regulatory reporting
Solvency II & Capital Management
- Support Solvency II calculations and reporting requirements
- Analyze capital requirements and risk exposures
- Participate in ORSA processes and stress testing exercises
- Contribute to model validation and governance activities
Risk & Business Analysis
- Assess insurance, market, credit and operational risks
- Provide actuarial opinions and recommendations to management
- Support pricing reviews and profitability analyses
- Develop and monitor key risk indicators
Stakeholder Management
- Collaborate with Finance, Risk, Underwriting and senior management teams
- Present findings and recommendations to key decision-makers
- Liaise with auditors, regulators and external consultants when required
Profile
Experience
- Master's degree in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of actuarial experience within the insurance sector
- Previous experience in Life, Non-Life, Risk Management or Capital Management
- Experience working in consulting or project-based environments is an advantage
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Solvency II requirements
- Experience with actuarial modelling and valuation techniques
- Familiarity with IFRS 17 is considered a strong asset
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong Excel skills; experience with actuarial software is a plus
Languages
- Fluent in English
- French and/or Dutch is an asset depending on the assignment
