Our client, an international group active in financial services, is looking for an Accounting Manager in Brussels to lead its accounting activities and team.

Accounting Manager | Your duties and responsibilities

As Accounting Manager, you will take ownership of the accounting activities of several corporate entities and manage a team of 5 people.

Your responsibilities will include:

Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual closings, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Oversee accounting activities including GL, AP/AR, provisions, accruals, reconciliations and journal entries.
Ensure financial reporting in accordance with Belgian GAAP and IFRS.
Coordinate the budget and forecasting processes and contribute to management reporting.
Prepare statutory accounts and coordinate with internal and external auditors.
Ensure compliance with accounting, tax, regulatory and internal control requirements.
Manage, coach and develop a team of 5 finance professionals.
Strengthen accounting processes, procedures and the internal control framework.
Drive automation, digitalisation and continuous improvement initiatives within Finance.
Collaborate closely with other teams including Treasury, Tax, Consolidation, Investments and HR.
Act as a point of contact for senior management and provide financial and technical accounting insights.
Contribute to finance projects and improvements of ERP and reporting tools.

Accounting Manager | Ideal profile

Experience: At least 7 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit or financial reporting within a structured/international environment, combined with experience managing or supervising a team. Big Four experience and knowledge of IFRS are strong assets.
Languages: Fluent English, combined with a professional command of French and/or Dutch.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
