Sharepoint Engineer

Are you the SharePoint engineer we need ?

We are looking for a Senior M365 SharePoint Engineer to join an IT department and contribute to strategic projects focused on document management, digital transformation, business process automation and information governance.

You will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing and industrialising Microsoft 365 solutions, with a strong focus on SharePoint, Power Platform, Microsoft Purview and SharePoint Premium.



Working closely with business stakeholders and project teams, you will translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions. You will be involved throughout the full lifecycle of solutions, from architecture and development through migration, deployment, governance, operations and continuous improvement.

The role requires proven experience in large-scale document management environments, including repositories containing hundreds of thousands or millions of documents, as well as advanced expertise in document classification, taxonomies, metadata, OCR, workflow automation and AI-based content enrichment.


Role

  • Define and maintain the target SharePoint architecture in line with enterprise standards, business requirements and governance policies.
  • Design scalable document architectures and information structures for large-volume repositories.
  • Define and implement metadata models, taxonomies, content types and classification rules.
  • Implement document governance, records management, retention and archiving strategies.
  • Design and implement complex business workflows using Power Automate and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Prepare and supervise complex migrations to Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
  • Implement OCR and intelligent document-processing solutions for documents, images and digitised forms.
  • Leverage SharePoint Premium, Azure AI Document Intelligence and/or similar technologies to automate classification, metadata extraction and content enrichment.
  • Develop intelligent document-processing solutions to identify, classify and extract key information automatically.
  • Automate document-centric processes to reduce manual intervention.
  • Apply security, compliance and confidentiality requirements to digital content.
  • Contribute to Microsoft 365 governance and Microsoft Purview policies.
  • Ensure the quality, scalability, performance and maintainability of implemented solutions.
  • Support users in adopting best practices for document management and digital collaboration.
  • Maintain an active technology watch on Microsoft 365, SharePoint, AI, Content Services and Information Management.

Offer

  • Full-time assignment for approximately 2 years, potentially up to 440 person-days.
  • 40 hours per week.
  • Minimum 3 days per week on-site in Brussels, potentially on non-consecutive days.
