Our client, a growing international manufacturing group, is looking for a Senior Accountant in the Zele region to strengthen its Finance team.

You will join an established Finance department, working closely with colleagues from Accounting, Consolidation, Tax, Treasury and Controlling.

As a Senior Accountant, you will take ownership of the accounting activities of a key Belgian entity, while contributing to financial projects, process improvements and the further professionalisation of the department.

Senior Accountant | Your duties and responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for:

Managing the general accounting of a Belgian entity within the group.
Coordinating monthly, quarterly and annual closing activities.
Preparing statutory annual accounts and ensuring compliance with Belgian accounting and tax regulations.
Handling VAT-related matters and intercompany transactions.
Preparing financial documentation and acting as a point of contact during external audits.
Supporting financial reporting and contributing to the budgeting process.
Collaborating with international Finance teams on accounting and reporting matters.
Improving accounting procedures, internal controls and financial processes.
Participating in Finance transformation projects, including automation, digitalisation and ERP optimisation.
Sharing your expertise with colleagues and supporting them on accounting-related questions.

Senior Accountant | Ideal profile

Experience: You have around 4–6 years of experience in general accounting, either in an accounting firm or within an internal Finance department. You are comfortable with closing activities and ready to take ownership of a complete accounting scope.
Languages: You have a very good command of Dutch and can communicate professionally in English.
Qualifications: You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field, or have equivalent professional experience. You are comfortable with Excel and ERP systems. Experience with SAP is an advantage, not a requirement.
