Regulatory Compliance Opportunity in Insurance

Our client, a well-established insurance institution, is looking for a Regulatory Compliance to strengthen its first line of defence team.

This position combines operational compliance, AML/KYC expertise and internal control activities. You will play a key role in ensuring regulatory compliance, improving operational processes and supporting business teams in the implementation of financial crime prevention measures.


Working at the crossroads of Compliance, Operations and Customer Services, you will contribute to maintaining a strong control environment while driving continuous improvement initiatives.


Role

AML, KYC & Financial Crime


  • Conduct periodic KYC reviews based on customer risk profiles.
  • Analyse AML alerts and investigate unusual or potentially suspicious activities.
  • Review high-risk customer files, including politically exposed persons (PEPs), sanctions-related cases and other sensitive situations.
  • Prepare well-documented case files and escalate complex matters when required.
  • Contribute to the prevention of financial crime by identifying emerging risks and proposing mitigation measures.


Regulatory Compliance & Internal Controls


  • Perform quality assurance reviews and operational control testing across customer service activities.
  • Assess compliance with internal policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Identify control weaknesses and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Monitor the implementation of remediation plans and contribute to strengthening the internal control framework.
  • Support the continuous improvement of operational processes and compliance procedures.


Regulatory Reporting & Governance


  • Participate in regulatory activities related to international reporting obligations (including tax transparency frameworks).
  • Support responses to requests from regulatory authorities and public institutions.
  • Contribute to compliance-related projects involving regulatory changes and operational implementation.
  • Maintain and update internal procedures to reflect evolving regulatory requirements.


Continuous Improvement

  • Stay informed about developments in AML, KYC, financial crime prevention, data protection and related regulatory topics.
  • Share knowledge and support colleagues through guidance and best practices.
  • Contribute to the development of a strong compliance culture across the organisation

Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AML, KYC, Financial Crime, Regulatory Compliance or Internal Controls within the financial services sector.
  • Solid understanding of AML/CFT regulations and customer due diligence requirements.
  • Knowledge of tax transparency regulations and data protection principles is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to investigate complex situations and deliver pragmatic solutions.
  • Organised, autonomous and proactive, with excellent prioritisation skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience with reporting or analytical tools (Power BI, SAS or similar) is considered an advantage.
  • Professional certification in Compliance or AML is a plus.
  • Fluent in English and either French or Dutch, with a good understanding of the other national language.
