Our client, an international group active in real estate and hospitality in Brussels, is looking for a GL Accountant to strengthen its finance team.

As a GL Accountant, you will join a finance team of 5 professionals and work directly alongside the Finance Manager.

GL Accountant | Your Duties and Responsibilities

Manage the general accounting activities of several entities within the group.
Participate in monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
Prepare VAT returns and support various tax-related activities.
Oversee daily accounting operations performed by the AP and AR teams.
Prepare financial reports and analyse accounting figures.
Collaborate with external auditors and accounting partners.
Identify opportunities to improve and digitalise accounting processes.
Gradually take on additional responsibilities, supporting the Finance Manager in coordinating accounting activities.

GL Accountant | Ideal Profile

Experience: You have at least 3–4 years of experience in accounting, either within an accounting firm or an internal finance department. You are comfortable with Belgian accounting standards and closing activities. Previous supervisory experience is an advantage, but not required.
Languages: You are fluent in French and have a good professional level of English (B2). Dutch is considered an asset, but is not mandatory.
Qualifications: You hold a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or an equivalent qualification. You are comfortable working with Excel and accounting software.
