Actuary in Pension consulting - Insurance Brokerage Antwerp

For one of our clients, an independent Belgian insurance broker, we are looking for an experienced Actuary Consultant to strengthen its Pension Consulting team.

Our client advises companies and institutions on insurance, risk management and Employee Benefits and has built a strong position in the Belgian market. Within Employee Benefits, the organisation combines pension expertise, actuarial consulting and broader benefits solutions.

The Pension Consulting activity is growing, creating an opportunity for an actuarial professional who can independently manage client dossiers, provide high-level pension expertise and contribute to the continued development of the practice.

The preference is for an experienced actuarial profile, ideally with around 10 years or more of relevant experience. However, a strong medior candidate with the expertise and potential to grow into a senior consulting role can equally be considered.

Your role

As Actuary Consultant, you will join a specialised team focusing on pension and actuarial consulting.

You will manage your own portfolio of client dossiers, combining technical actuarial expertise with consulting and direct client interaction.

This is not a sales position and not a people-management role. The emphasis is on technical quality, autonomy, client service and expertise.

You will work in an environment where experienced professionals are trusted to take ownership of their work and manage their responsibilities with a high degree of independence.

Role

Independently manage a portfolio of pension and actuarial dossiers.
Provide actuarial expertise and pension consulting to clients.
Perform and review actuarial calculations, analyses and modelling.
Translate complex actuarial topics into clear recommendations.
Work directly with clients and relevant stakeholders.
Support clients on pension-related questions and projects.
Work with internal actuarial tools and models.
Support and mentor junior colleagues from a technical perspective.
Collaborate with colleagues across the broader Employee Benefits organisation.
Contribute to the continued development of the Pension Consulting practice.
Participate in the evolution of actuarial tooling, modelling and processes where relevant.

The role is predominantly office-based, with occasional client visits.

Technical environment

Strong actuarial and pension expertise is the key requirement.

Exposure to technical tools is an additional advantage, particularly:

You do not need to be an advanced programmer. Basic knowledge can already be valuable, particularly if you are interested in the evolution of actuarial consulting through data, automation and modelling.

Profile

We are looking for an actuarial professional with a strong background in pensions and pension funds.

Relevant experience could have been gained within a pension fund, insurance company, actuarial consultancy, Big Four firm or Employee Benefits environment.

More specifically, you bring:

Strong experience within actuarial consulting, pensions or pension funds.
Ideally around 10+ years of relevant experience, although strong medior candidates can also be considered.
The technical maturity to independently manage actuarial and pension dossiers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Experience interacting with clients or the potential to develop further in a client-facing consulting role.
The ability and willingness to support junior colleagues.
Interest in actuarial tooling, modelling, technology and process improvement.
A high degree of autonomy, ownership and reliability.
Dutch at native or near-native level.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Ideally B2-level French.

There is flexibility regarding French, and language training can be provided.
