Payroll - Comp&Ben

Senior Payroll Consultant

Join a flexible, people-centric, and growing organisation built on trust and high-quality service

For one of our partners in the financial sector, a rapidly expanding organisation that combines the strength of a European group with the warmth of a human-sized Belgian entity, we are looking for a Senior Payroll Consultant for the northern Zaventem region.

What truly sets this company apart is its flexible and supportive working environment, designed to give consultants autonomy, work-life balance, and the space to deliver their best work. Far from the rigid structures often found in larger consultancy firms, you will join a team where collaboration, trust, and kindness are essential pillars. The Belgian subsidiary operates with short decision lines and an open culture, ensuring that every consultant feels valued and heard.

In this role, you manage your own portfolio of international clients, building close and long-term relationships with them. You act not just as a payroll expert, but as a partner who understands their challenges, anticipates their needs, and provides tailored solutions. This proximity with clients, combined with the company’s emphasis on quality over volume, allows you to deliver genuinely impactful support, while maintaining a balanced workload.

As a Senior Payroll Consultant, you will be part of a team of experienced professionals who pride themselves on offering personal, high-quality service, and who work together to ensure excellence across all client interactions.

Role

  • Manage and oversee complex payroll administration for a portfolio of international clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on all payroll, social legislation, and HR compliance matters.
  • Analyse client needs and propose tailored solutions, process improvements, and best practices.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact, mentoring junior consultants and ensuring quality standards across the team.
  • Represent the company as an expert in high-stakes client interactions (audit support, reorganisations, complex case management…).

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in HR, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in payroll, ideally gained within consultancy, a social secretariat with international clients, or a BIG4 environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Belgian social legislation and payroll complexity (multiple CPs, expats, salary split, international mobility…).
  • Fluent in English with strong proficiency in French and Dutch.
  • Proven ability to manage complex cases, prioritise effectively, and maintain client trust.
  • Analytical, structured, and solution-oriented, with excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable in international and fast-changing environments.

Offer

  • Permanent full-time contract.
  • Attractive and progressive salary package, aligned with your seniority and expertise.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid working possibilities.
  • Integration into a high-quality, fast-growing organisation with strong development perspectives.
  • Continuous training and access to experts, with opportunities to further strengthen your technical skillset.
  • A collaborative and supportive culture focused on respect, trust, and long-term professional growth.
  • A stable structure recognised in both the Belgian and European markets.
