Security Officer | CISO Right Hand

Our partner is a well-established Belgian organization with a strong social and societal impact, a large national footprint and a substantial internal IT environment. As their security organization continues to evolve, they are looking for a Security Officer to join the CISO team.

This is not a purely operational security role. You will work closely with the CISO and become a key point of contact for Information Security, IT Risk and Service Continuity, with real visibility across the organization.

Security Officer - Tasks & Responsibilities

Act as the CISO’s right hand on Information Security, IT Risk and IT Service Continuity topics.
Lead IT resilience & Disaster Recovery initiatives, including risk assessments, recovery requirements and testing.
Contribute to the development of the ISMS, security policies, standards and awareness initiatives.
Coordinate security and risk projects, working with IT teams, business stakeholders and external service providers.
Perform risk assessments, Business Impact Assessments and Threat & Vulnerability Assessments, while maintaining the risk register.
Support the management of security incidents, audits and security-related activities across the organization.

Security Officer - The Profile

3–6 years of experience in Information Security, IT Risk, IT Service Continuity or a combination of these areas.
Strong knowledge of ISO 2700x, ISO 22301, ISO 31000, NIST, COBIT and/or ITIL.
Good understanding of IT infrastructure, security controls and cloud environments such as Azure and GCP.
Comfortable taking ownership of projects and advising both technical and business stakeholders.
Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills, with a structured and pragmatic approach.
Dutch mandatory and good French (B1/B2); certifications such as CISM, CISSP, CISA, CRISC or BCI are a plus.
