Junior Accountant - International Law Firm

For a client, we are actively looking for a Junior Accountant (AY/AP/AR) in South Brussels.

An international law firm based in Brussels is looking for a Junior Accountant to strengthen its Finance & Accounting team.

You will join a well-structured finance department within a large office environment, working alongside experienced colleagues. This role offers exposure to a broad range of accounting activities and the opportunity to grow progressively within a demanding yet supportive setting.

Accuracy, autonomy and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, professional environment are key to succeeding in this position.

Role

As part of the finance team, you will contribute to the day-to-day accounting operations, including:

Managing accounts receivable functions, including invoicing, bank reconciliations, and follow-up on outstanding balances
Overseeing accounts payable activities, such as processing supplier invoices and expense-related costs
Providing general financial and administrative support to the department
Participating in ad hoc projects and contributing to process improvement initiatives as needed
Assisting with the preparation and submission of VAT filings
Supporting monthly and year-end closing processes

Profile

You are someone who feels comfortable in a structured, professional environment and who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Minimum 1 year of experience as an Accountant
Excellent level of Dutch (C1 minimum)
Minimum B2 level of French and minimum B1 level of English
Solid skills in MS Office, especially Excel
Familiarity with ERP or financial systems is an asset
Knowledge of Belgian GAAP
Assertive, reliable and detail-oriented
Quick learner with a proactive mindset
