Insurance Portfolio Manager - Belgium

For one of our clients, we are actively looking for a Insurance Portfolio Manager in Belgium.

Our client is an international insurance group specialising in life and non-life insurance with multiple clients throughout Belgium.

To support the development of its activities in Belgium, the company is looking for an Insurance Portfolio Manager to manage and further develop relationships with clients and intermediary partners across Flanders region.

This is an excellent opportunity for a relationship-oriented insurance professional who combines commercial acumen with technical knowledge of Employee Benefits and Corporate Life Insurance.

Your Role

As an Insurance Portfolio Manager, you will act as the primary contact for a portfolio of corporate clients, sector organisations and self-employed customers in Flanders.

Following a comprehensive onboarding and product training programme, you will work closely with the Operations department, brokers and Employee Benefits consultants to deliver high-quality service, identify development opportunities and strengthen long-term client relationships.

You will also contribute to the company's commercial strategy while collaborating closely with colleagues across Operations, Underwriting and Customer Services.

Your Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

Manage and develop a portfolio of Corporate Life Insurance clients across the Dutch-speaking market.
Build long-term relationships with employers, sector organisations and self-employed clients.
Deliver a high level of service by understanding clients' evolving pension and insurance needs.
Act as the primary contact for contractual and operational matters.
Provide support for the French-speaking portfolio when required.

Business Development

Identify opportunities to optimise existing supplementary pension and employee benefit solutions.
Advise clients on appropriate insurance solutions aligned with their objectives.
Contribute to customer retention and portfolio growth.
Participate in the definition and execution of the commercial strategy for Corporate Life activities.

Broker & Partner Management

Develop and maintain strong relationships with Employee Benefits consultants, brokers and other market intermediaries.
Conduct commercial meetings and negotiations with key distribution partners.
Represent the company during client meetings, networking events and industry seminars.
Strengthen the company's visibility within the Belgian Employee Benefits market.

Internal Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Legal, Finance and Customer Service teams to ensure efficient service delivery.
Coordinate internal follow-up of client requests and operational matters.
Contribute to process improvements aimed at enhancing the customer experience.
Support strategic initiatives linked to portfolio integration and growth.

Profil

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Insurance, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Employee Benefits, Corporate Life Insurance, Financial Services or Consultancy.
Strong understanding of supplementary pension plans and Corporate Life Insurance products.
Commercial mindset combined with a customer-centric approach.
Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
Strong organisational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities.
Proactive, solution-oriented and detail-focused.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint).
Native Dutch speaker.
