Role
As a D&O Underwriter, you will contribute to the development and management of a portfolio of Corporate risks, with a particular focus on Directors & Officers Liability and Financial Lines.
You will combine risk analysis, underwriting expertise and commercial insight to evaluate opportunities, structure appropriate insurance solutions and build strong relationships with brokers and corporate clients.
Key Responsibilities

- Review existing policies and renewals while identifying changes in risk exposure.
- Develop your expertise across D&O and broader Financial Lines products.

- Develop strong and long-term relationships with insurance brokers, corporate clients and other market stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted business partner by combining technical understanding with a pragmatic and solution-oriented approach.
- Discuss and negotiate terms, conditions and coverage with brokers.
- Understand clients' business models and challenges to identify appropriate insurance solutions.
- Represent the company during broker meetings, client discussions and relevant market events.
Portfolio & Business Development
- Contribute actively to the development of the D&O and Financial Lines portfolio in Belgium.
- Identify new business opportunities and participate in the company's broader growth strategy.
- Develop a strong understanding of the Belgian Corporate insurance market and its key players.
- Combine disciplined underwriting with a commercial mindset to support sustainable and profitable growth.
- Participate in strategic initiatives aimed at strengthening the company's presence in the Belgian market.

- Work closely with local and international underwriting specialists and other internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to a culture focused on technical excellence, quality and continuous improvement.
- Share market insights and contribute to the evolution of underwriting approaches and solutions.
- Take ownership of your responsibilities while benefiting from the expertise of an established international organization.
Profile
We are open to different professional backgrounds. More than a predefined career path, our client is looking for someone with strong analytical capabilities, commercial awareness and the ambition to develop within Corporate Insurance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Law, Business, Engineering or another relevant field.
- Previous experience in D&O, Financial Lines, Corporate Insurance or Underwriting is highly valued but not mandatory for candidates with a relevant transferable background.
- Professionals coming from Corporate Banking, SME Banking or B2B commercial roles with strong exposure to corporate clients are also encouraged to apply.
- Ability to understand a company's business model, financial situation and underlying risks.
- Strong analytical mindset combined with genuine commercial flair.
- Comfortable developing relationships with brokers, clients and senior stakeholders.
